Christmas Break..... Kinda Boring???

Okay what do you think??? I am totally bored and it's only 2 days after we got out of school. It seems like at least 4 days since we left the place, that some people call "school". Tee Hee Hee!!! So what can I do to "spice up" my vacation?? Give me ideas!!!!

A Storybook Christmas!!!!

Lights! Camera! Action! At school we had a Christmas concert/play. There was one at 1:00pm and one at 7:30pm. A Storybook Play is about an 8 year old girl named Kim who is at home with her Grandpa. Kim gets very worried when her parents call and say they are stopping in Davidson at the A&W til the visibility is better. Kim's grandfather tells Kim Christmas stories to pass the time. My favourite parts were:

I was Kim in the 1:00 pm show, Peter Pan's Christmas and the Alvin and the Chipmunks dance!!!

No Buses, but Tons of GUMMY BEARS!!!!!

 "Gimme some!!!!!" That is all I heard after we were at the computer lab on Monday. By we I mean five of us. Stephanie, Brooke, Mackenzie, Spenser and little old me!!!!! When we were in the lab we did scavenger hunts on the computer. I won 2 little boxes of Smarties and 3 gummy bears. And here's where it all happened.......

  We just got back from the lab, plus we had just finished our little prizes when we found out we had to stay in. It was - 40 outside so I guess I can see why. Mackenzie and I started down the hall still a little hungry, so we went to Miss Olson and asked if we could have a few more gummies. She gave us the WHOLE TUB!!!! When we brought it back, Steph and Brooke started stuffing their faces and pockets. So, that's when "Gimme some!!!!" comes in. Mack and I yelled that till we got some!!! But oh my.... we finished that tub in about 5 minutes!!!! And, it was quite the tub of gummies. 

CBC Book contest!!!

Rules. That's the book I won in the My Favourite Book Contest for CBC Radio. I read the whole book over the weekend. It was really good. It was about a girl named Catherine with a special needs brother named David. David goes to therapy almost everyday, that's when she meets Jason. Jason is a mute boy who goes to therapy on the same day as Catherine's brother, except Jason goes to get cards in his communication book and to get speech therapy. Throughout the book, Catherine makes cards for Jason's book. Cards, that his therapist wouldn't make him like Whatever for being sarcastic, Ugly and Stupid for his therapist, Music for music and Girlfriend for whoever he chose. Turned out it was Catherine. Take this book out and read it!!!!

RYMM SWIM MEET!!!

I had an awesome swim meet in Regina on the weekend. I got first in my 50 FR and a 3rd,4th ,9th and 13th. It was really fun. We swam all day and I got 4 AA times and 1 A time. That is one of the best things you can do!!!! I now qualify to go to PWI in Winnipeg and to go to PA for a swim meet, but they are both in the same weekend. So, I had to pick. But my mom and dad won't let me go to either. UGHHHHH!!! Tee hee hee!!!

It comes 3 times a year and most of us don't like it...

What comes 3 times a school year and most students don't like it???? Parent Teacher INTERVIEWS!!!! Yes... it was that time of year, Parent Teacher Interview season. Yes most of us don't like it , but I partially liked it. I got NO complaints and NO comments. So it was good. I can't believe it but it was one of the best interviews I've had.... Amazing, hey??

Come and Get It!!! I'm In the Paper!!!

It wouldn’t seem possible to do better than a slate of personal best times, but four swimmers from the Moose Jaw Kinsmen Flying Fins did that recently. The Fins swimmers not only posted personal bests in every swim, but they collected a series of A and AA times as well.

“As a coach I was quite impressed. I got goose bumps. It was an awesome performance,” said Fins coach Monty S. “For the first meet of the season I was quite impressed with all of our performances there.”

Lauran A., Joyce A., Sadie S. and Keegan E. all attended the Swift Current provincial B qualifier two weeks ago. Since the Beijing Olympic Games, Swim Canada has adjusted their benchmark times — newly re-named A and AA — to reflect advancements in competition. “Not only is Saskatchewan changing, but other provinces too, we’re trying to get on the same board as Swim Canada and they’ve released a new set of times since the Beijing Olympics,” said Monty.

Swift Current Swim Meet!!!!

Guess What?????? I am a total swim diva!!!!! I got 4th in my 400m FR and I find out what I got in my 200m IM in a rewards ceremony in Regina some time soon. Plus another thing....... I have a swim meet in Regina on the weekend!!!!!! Yay!! I'm swimming all my 50's and my 200m FR!!!! Oh yeah!!!

Bullying Bites!!!! Don't Go For It!!!!

Have you ever been bullied??????? I have!!!! Last year at my old school, I got bullied everyday..... And that is something I DO NOT and WILL NOT joke about. There are three types of bullying: Verbal, Social and Physical. I, being someone who was in the victim's position went how many days when it was just my friend and I. but because she was hanging out with me she got bullied too. So when she left me I had a mental and physical breakdown. Not kidding....... The worst part is, the teachers didn't do anything about it! They just said:
" Just tell them to stop and it will all go away." or " come back to me when it happens again." That isn't my idea of what I would want a teacher to do or say. You'd think that a teacher would try to do something....... but at least it's over now that I moved schools.
Big Idea: I moved because of it. I couldn't handle it anymore. It lasted three years!!!!!
Another BIG idea: DON'T BULLY!!! STAND UP!!!!!

Rememberance Day

Today at school we had our Remembrance Day Ceremony. Lexy and Cortni signed O Canada while we were singing. A man from the Legion came and talked about WW1 and WW2. Then the choir sang three songs. We sang God Save The Queen. It was really nice. Lots of sitting and standing but nice.......

Mrs. Lothian and Career Building!!!!!!

Yesterday Mrs. Lothian, the career building consultant, came to show us about Bridges. Bridges is about showing kids about jobs and building your career. We all took a crazy little test. It was about how some jobs are just a little to goofy....... like Celebrity Squirrel Chauffeur. Then we took a realistic quiz that gave you some jobs you'd be good at. My top three favorites were:

But I would really like to go to the Olympics with my swimming!!!!

Leaf Art!!!

In class we made Leaf Art from tracing leaves onto paper. Then you had to put little circles on the inside to make it look like little molecules. It got pretty annoying. But we are done now..... YAY!!

Arthur Slade the Author!!

Today Arthur Slade came and told us about all of his books, how they got published and all that jazz. It was really crazy how many books he wrote and then finally someone published one. We are now ready his book Jolted. It's about a boy who's family is cursed by lightning. In the book Newton (the main character) goes to the Gerry Potts Academy of Survival and Learning in Moose Jaw, SK. It's a very good book so far, but it can get boring at some points.

P.S. the tin foil hats have to do with the book Jolted. I am still wearing my little tiara. I'm addicted to it!!!

Halloween Dance!!!!

On Oct. 31st we had our rockin' Halloween dance. It was SO much fun!!!!! I loved it like I Love Ice Cream. And I really would have had to like it alot to say that. The music was really good too. I think my favourite part was dancing in the snowball with Teigan. It was fun and funny at the same time.....

Pumpkin Carving Contest!!!

At school, we are having a pumpkin carving contest. My pumpkin sticks out like llama in a herd of sheep. It is literally the only white pumpkin besides my sister's. Unfortunately, last night my mom reminded me that we had it today..... so yeah. There are no more orange pumpkins left in the city!!!!!!! I am not kidding......

Red Sky Theatre!!!!

Today Red Sky Theatre can to our school to perform a play called How the Raven Stole the Sun. It was funny but awesome at the same time. Also a bit weird. It was about how an old man boxed up the sun, stars and the moon when his wife died. The Raven really wanted to know what was in the boxes. And I mean really. He even turned himself into a pine needle so that the old mans daughter would drink him out of the stream. Then after that mysteriously she woke up pregnant. Then when she was ready The Raven popped out from the table from which under she sat, so it really sorta looked like she gave birth to him. But he sure can out as an old man that's for sure. Hairy Legs and All. So that was kinda gross but funny. But I would definitely recommend watching them.

War Brides Tour and Portrait Activity at the Museum!!!

This is all the stuff we did at the Art Museum downtown. It was really amazing how the artist Bev Tosh got all the details of the ladies in. I wish I were that good of an artist. After we did that we drew self portraits and then painted them. I was kinda looking like myself. Sorta, Kinda, Not Really. But all together it was fun!!!

Thanksgiving Dinner at School!!!!

At school we had a Thanksgiving dinner. It was Delicious! I had dinner with Caisia and her family, plus Kenzie. I had dinner with them because... my mom and dad were working. So it was kinda sad having my first school thanksgiving dinner without them. But in all it was good!!!!!

Hip Hop Dance Lessons

     On Tuesday, Oct. 14th we got Hip Hop dance lessons from Marcella. She originally Italian. I guess if you count that she is the first in her generation to be half Canadian. She is a professional dancer from Toronto. She is un-unioned, that means that she is her own boss. I love that idea!!! She has danced with Justin Timberlake, Janet Jackson and Jully Black. Plus she met Chris Brown is disguise.... but not she's boycotting him because he was mean to her. He didn't even say hi to her!!!!!!

Music Lessons from Darcy!

Today a girl named Dacy came to our school to show us how to throat sing. We didn't sing but she told us all about her band and we played with a whole bunch of broken stuff!!!!!

Elections!!!!!

Today at our school we had and Election. We all got to got for who we wanted..... No Duh, It's a free world isn't it????? Well I am so not telling you who I voted for!!!!! I bet you can guess!!!!!

Ukulele Lessons from Miss Olson!!

We are taking Ukulele lessons from my teacher Miss Olson. So far we are working on: Lean on Me. It is pretty fun..... if only I could play better!!!! Tee Hee Hee!!!

Skeletons!!!!!

In our health unit we made skeletons out of plastic milk jugs!!!! I cut myself a couple of times and burned myself with the glue gun but it turned out alright!!!

Biking and Needles...Not a Good Combo!!!

On Oct. 3rd all the Grade 6's in my class and in Mr. Yeske's class went on a bike trip. Before we went we got our needles. Everybody was wigging out because we all thought that the needles would kill us... Tee Hee Hee! It wasn't even that bad except that the Hep B didn't hurt when it went in but the HPV one did. Then after I was expecting that the HPV one to hurt but the Hep B did. By the way the HPV is just for girls if you didn't know. Guess what after getting our needles and biking I was so sore but I went to swim practise anyway. I did one arm circle, it hurt so bad that my eyes started watering and my coach sent me home and told me to skip that day and Saturday too. I can't wait to get in the water on Monday!!!!! Yay!!!!

Class BBQ Yummm!!!!

In the first week of school our class 5/6 OO had a BBQ. It was awesome and it tasted so yummy!!!!

The Lindale Terry Fox Run!!!!

On Tuesday, Sept 23rd we ran in the Terry Fox run at Spring Creek. It was awesome because it was my first run at Lindale so running and walking with my new friends was fun. I ran and walked about 6 miles altogether. Now my legs are really sore. After we ran we got two timbits each. They tasted so good.

GPS in Social

Today in Social we studied Location. We went outside and used the GPS locator's. It was so much fun. Mr. Shareski was our GPS teacher. Ha Ha. We were almost everywhere outside. Then I took pictures of everyone and their GPS. If I could do it again I would.

The Art Museum!!!!

Today our class went to the Art Museum. We went there to see Dorothy Knowles' art work. She paints with Oil Paints. They all look very nice. Some of them were really abstract. And I mean really! She paints landscape but at the beginning of her carrer as a painter, she painted a portrait of herself. I think that her landscapes look way better than the portrait but that's my opinion.

One of Dorothy's painting really caught my eye. It was a painting of Emma Lake!!!!!

When we were finished, we painted with water paints. My painting looked really crazy!

Bored!!!

Heyy. I am really bored! I was just on school email. I talked to Zac, Cortni, Maddy, and Mack. Me and Maddy r going swimming on Monday. We aren't sure about Mack though. I still need to call her!!! I gotta go so, talk to ya later everybody!

my life isn't hectic at all.....

Heyy!!! I am going to talk about My Life.

I have lots of friends now because I transferred schools. My main friends I hangout with are Macoroni Head, Maddy,Ceanna, Teigan, Nolan, Alexis, Cortni, Steph, Laura and Caisia.
I really miss all my old friends. I'll name a few in here: Chelsea, Riley, Brea, Farzie, Tren, Kit Kat, Haley B., Joey, Marshall, Brayden, Daxton (aka Dexter), Deagen, Mark and Cord.
Now I'll talk about my teachers. I have Mr.Olney and Miss.Olson this year. In our class we all call eachother Agent Double O 5 or 6, whichever grade you are in is the number you get. We all think that's really funny!!!!
Okay now I'll talk about my life out of school. Right now after I go to school, I go on my school email and talk to whoever's on. Which is usually Maddy, Laura, and Mack. But when I start competitive swimming, my life will be really hectic!!!! And then in that hectic life I'll make time for my best buds. Sometimes I thank myself that my life isn't as hectic as my friend Sadie. I would have no time for anything but school, training, sports, and more training!!!! (She trains for almost anything!!!!)

My Favourite Sports!!!!

Heyy!!!! My favourite sports are Volleyball and Competitive Swimming. In swimming for my 10 and under last year, I was second fastest in Saskatchewan in my 50 FR.and my 50 FL. And then I got 5th in my 100 FR, 4th in my 200FR and 11th in my 50 FR!!!!! And I just tried out for Volleyball!!!!!

Favorite Book of the Summer of 2008

Do you ever wish that you could dream what will happen in the future? You won't after this!!!
Babak and his sister Mitra are former royalty in hiding. They have now lived in their cave for the past four years. Stealing, Sneaking and Sleeping just to stay alive!!But when they find out Babak can dream, Mitra finds out that he dreams different from the rest of us...
My favourite part of this book is how when Babak and Mitra get kidnapped and get taken away. But then, when they almost give up on hope, their kidnappers decide to take them to a city a little ways away from their home.
If I could rate this book out of 10....I'd give it a 15!!! I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a really mysterious and sad book.
